I am a Malaysian, currently reside in Malaysia. I have extensive international experience as I’ve cumulatively spent 4.5 years living overseas, including three years studying in four different countries in Europe, followed by a year working in Maldives, and also half a year working holidays in New Zealand. My most recent work experience was working as lecturer in a university and currently working as freelance English tutor. However, I originate from the tourism and hospitality industry. Regarding English teaching related qualifications, I obtained a Band 8 results for IELTS, have completed 120-hour TESOL/TESL accredited training course, and possess a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning. Due to the fact that COVID-19 has hugely and adversely impacted global tourism industry, I decided to make a transition into English teaching and am actively looking for job opportunities, specifically in China. My decision to make a career move to China is mainly due to my life decision to live with my fiancé who is from mainland China.

Having worked in various training and teaching roles, including as trainer in a hotel, learning and development coordinator in a resort, lecturer in a university and part-time home tuition teacher, I have gradually developed a strong passion for teaching over the years. I enjoy the intellectual satisfaction of sharing and transmitting knowledge to students of any age. With a strong sense of purpose, I wish to contribute my grain of sand in educating people, becoming a mentor that influences young learners, changing their lives and eventually make a real difference in the world.

Being an educator, my strength lies in recognizing different learning styles. Backed with pedagogical knowledge, I know how to adapt my teaching methods to stimulate students’ interest for English language based on their learning style and help them to find the joy of English studies. Having acquired a substantial amount of experience working with both adult and young learners, as well as in activities outside of the traditional classroom, I have a diverse background with much to offer. By teaching students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles, I have honed my communication, creativity, and motivational skills.

It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate and enthusiastic teacher that contributes to English language learning among Chinese residents. I would welcome any opportunity in any part of China.
